The Butchers Mate

Wow what an amazing place for breakfast. Whilst on holiday googled a good breakfast place nearby, found TBM. Cannot recommend them enough, absolutely fantastic quality breakfast, service was fantastic and the atmosphere lovely and relaxing on a wet rainy day. Staff are attentive and friendly with personalities that welcome a family with a small child. Wish you where local to us, will be visiting again, hopefully not too long.

I went for lunch and had the "deluxe" burger with maple bacon, a fried egg and lettuce which was ridiculously good! For £12 it came with chips, onion rings and coleslaw which I thought was great value. Presentation was really nice as well, very modern. The coffee was also good and the staff were lovely! The interior could maybe do with a bit of re decorating as it's quite plain and not as cosy as it could be, but that's a minor nitpick. Will definitely be coming again in future!

Top quality cafe situated and joint with the local butchers next door. The café was very clean and the safe were very accommodating and polite. The food was extremely tasty and presented very well. They sell their own brand of roasted coffee within the butchers and it is very nice. There is a small amount of parking outside the front of the shop and it is wheelchair accessible with wheelchair toilets. Whenever I'm around the area I will definitely be going again.

I was born in the UK, but have been living in the US for the last 40 years or so. I can't imagine living in the UK again (sorry, but you might understand if you saw my life). HOWEVER, I'd consider dating a man from Royal Wootten Bassett,and maybe even marrying him and living here, just so I could eat here! I think that sums it up!

A fantastic breakfast, food was excellent, and very reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly, happy and can't do enough for you. I would recommended it to everyone i know and anyone who reads this. If you are visiting the area this place is a MUST. Thanks to all the staff for making my vist so good.

Excellent service with great food. What can I say, from the moment we stepped in to have breakfast the service was impeccable. We received a friendly welcome and were promptly shown to a table. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, so much so that we visited every morning of our trip. Highly recommend.

The Butchers Mate was recommended to us. I had smashed avocado on sourdough, with poached egg. I would have liked the egg cooked a little bit more. But it was very tasty and well presented. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

We had to stop for an EV charge on our journey down the M4. Saw the positive reviews and decided to make the 15 min walk down into the town and so glad we did! The place was buzzing on a quiet Sunday morning, always a good sign. They managed to fit us in and took a drinks order straight away. We both went for the regular breakfast which was a really decent plate of food, excellent quality especially the sausage and bacon which I understand are local. Friendly and efficient service throughout our visit. Lunch menu looked good too. Would highly recommend.
